Different smoke exhaust modes in adjacent smoke prevention zones within the same fire prevention zone may adversely affect smoke exhaust.Taking a hospital corridor as an example,FDS software is used to analyse the smoke exhaust efficiency of the same fire prevention zone when different smoke exhaust modes are used. The results show that mechanical smoke exhaust will have an impact on the smoke exhaust effect of the natural smoke exhaust. The natural smoke exhaust will have an impact on the start-up time of the mechanical smoke exhaust. For the smoke exhaust system of this building, the overall smoke control effect is better when the natural smoke exhaust window and the mechanical smoke exhaust vent are set opposite. When different smoke exhaust modes are used in adjacent smoke prevention zones,it is recommended to adopt a performance-based approach to optimize the design.
